One. DALLAS- COOPER FLAGG F, DUKE
Hey Mavericks front office and management, don't even think about trading this pick since you were rewarded, I mean, won the draft lottery with the slimmest of odds. Question is, where does Flagg fit into the starting lineup?
MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!
The San Antonio Spurs want to take the next step to become a contender, the Milwaukee Bucks need to rebuild badly. I think you know where I'm going with this.
SAN ANTONIO: The Greek Freak
MILWAUKEE: #2 overall pick, Jeremy Sochan, Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, and a huge contract, sayyyyyy, oh hi, Harrison Barnes!
Yes, Giannis allegedly said he wanted to stay in the Eastern Conference, but with a chance to play alongside a healthy Wemby and DeAaron Fox and challenge for a title, who is going to turn that down?
TWO. MILWAUKEE- DYLAN HARPER G, RUTGERS
With Damien Lillard sidelined for a year, Harper could be the cornerstone point guard that Milwaukee could build around for many years to come. Trust me, this is the right thing to do.
THREE. PHILADELPHIA- VJ EDGECOMBE F/G, BAYLOR
The "Process" is on death's door, so time to stock some young talent. VJ could join Jared McCain and Tyrese Maxey as the new "Process" in Philadelphia. Maybe time for a new nickname for this era.
FOUR. CHARLOTTE- JEREMIAH FEARS G, OKLAHOMA
The Hornets need another wing to help LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller. Fears can play both guard positions and can be a valuable clog for Charlotte's development to get out of the basement.
MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!
The Nets and the Jazz decide to swap picks with Brooklyn throwing a future first to make the trade passable.
FIVE. BROOKLYN- ACE BAILEY F, RUTGERS
Oh, buddy, you shouldn't have said anything. Bailey's comments before the draft made him slide down, but he is in the perfect situation as a future franchise player for the Nets.
SIX. WASHINGTON- EGOR DEMIN F, BYU
The Wizards could trade this pick for more picks or get a gritty player like Demin. Washington is getting rave reviews for the rebuild right now, so adding Egor gives them a good foundation.
SEVEN. NEW ORLEANS- KON KNUEPPEL F/G, DUKE
The Pels fell on hard times this season and need an offensive jolt to revive their dormant offense. Why not the best three-point shooter in the draft? Also, what's going to happen with Zion?
EIGHT. UTAH- NOA ESSENGUE F, FRANCE
The Jazz have drafted a lot of guards recently but need some size. Essengue can provide that and toughness to a frontcourt that includes Lauri Markkaken and Walker Kessler.
NINTH. TORONTO- KHAMAN MALUACH C, DUKE
With Jakob Poeltl not the long-term answer at center, word around the campfire is that Toronto has fallen for this project player, who has crazy athleticism for his size.
MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!
The Suns acquired this pick in the KD trade and Memphis snagged FOUR first-round picks for Desmond Bane but need a player to develop at the two. How about the #10 for #16 and a future first to swap?
TEN. MEMPHIS- TRE JOHNSON G, TEXAS
Johnson falls into the laps of the Grizzlies and can start right away on a team that is looking to reset everything after that huge trade. How about what happens with Triple J and Ja heading into this season?
ELEVEN. PORTLAND- DERIK QUEEN F/C, MARYLAND
Portland is looking for some bodies to help in the paint. Queen is big, strong and can develop into a great offensive asset in the painted area under the hoop.
TWELFTH. CHICAGO- COLLIN MURRAY-BOYLES F/C, S. CAROLINA
Vuvecic is getting older while Jalen Smith and Patrick Williams are colossal busts. The Bulls need an athletic four/five to help immediately. CMB is well polished for a player who just finished his sophomore season.
THIRTEEN. ATLANTA- NOLAN TRAORE G, FRANCE
It is time admit that the Trae Young era in Hotlanta could be coming to an end. Traore can sit and examine the game as he can develop a game for years to come for the Hawks.
FOURTEEN. SAN ANTONIO- KASPARAS JAKUCIONIS G, ILLINOIS
The notes about Jakucionis is that he is unselfish. That is perfect for a Spurs team who is looking to break through and having a high motor guard can help with that voyage.
FIFTEEN. OKLAHOMA CITY....TRIMUPH!- NIQUE CLIFFORD G, COLORADO STATE
The Champs have zero problems heading into their defending season, so drafting a four-year college player could add some seasoning to a young and successful team.
SIXTEEN. PHOENIX- WALTER CLAYTON JR. G, FLORIDA
So, Phoenix finally gets their point guard and a well-rounded one who stock rose because of the NCAA tournament. Clayton can score in bunches but can dish the ball off flawlessly.
SEVENTEEN. MINNESOTA- DANNY WOLF.....AHHWOOO F/C, MICHIGAN
With Gobert getting older, Randle getting invisible and Naz Reid getting a chance to look at other teams, the Wolves need to pounce on a replacement who is big and can man the paint for an up-and-coming franchise.
EIGHTEEN. WASHINGTON- CEDRIC COWARD G, WASHINGTON STATE
The Wizards add a "veteran" guard in CC who can play guard and forward with a high ceiling for defense and hustle. Signs of a solid veteran player.
NINETEEN. BROOKLYN- ASA NEWELL F, GEORGIA
The Nets are going to build a formidable frontcourt in this draft with drafting Bailey and Newell with this selection.
TWENTY. MIAMI- HUGO GONZALEZ F/G, SPAIN
The Heat need to get more versatile, so they draft the prospect with the awesome last name to develop into a very, young and untested core for the future.
TWENTY-ONE. UTAH- DRAKE POWELL F/G, NORTH CAROLINA
Utah Basketball Club continues to add young wings to their core as Powell slides to them at 21.
TWENTY-TWO. ATLANTA- THOMAS SORBER C, GEORGETOWN
With Clint Capela a free agent and Onyeka Okongwu a mixed bag, Atlanta uses their second pick in the round on a project big man.
TWENTY-THREE. NEW ORLEANS- BEN SARAF G, ISRAEL
With Dejounte Murray Hurt and CJ McCollum regressing, NOLA selects an unpolished point man to help develop for their future. Also, seriously, what's going on with Zion?!
TWENTY-FOUR. OKLAHOMA CITY TRIUMPH- MAXIME RAYNAUD C, STANFORD
Oh, don't mind them, they may have won the NBA championship, but that will not stop them from stocking up on young talent for the next few years.
TWENTY-FIVE. ORLANDO- JASE RICHARDSON G, MICHIGAN STATE
With Desmond Bane in tow, the Magic will not see a first-round pick for a while after this draft, so why not select a talented guard who can change the game with his athleticism.
TWENTY-SIX AND TWENTY-SEVEN. BROOKLYN- LIAM MCNEELEY F, UCONN AND CHAZ LANIER G, TENNESSEE
Brooklyn uses their final two picks of the first round to get wings. McNeeley is a project who can develop nicely while Lanier is a four-year college player who can contribute nicely to a team who is rebuilding.
TWENTY-EIGHT. BOSTON- CARTER BRYANT F, ARIZONA
Call this the Insurance Policy pick since Jayson Tatum is out for a year. Yes, they may need a center if Porzingis is moved, but Boston can find something through free agency.
TWENTY-NINE. PHOENIX- JOAN BERINGER C, FRANCE
The Suns added a point guard with their first pick, now time to get some muscle for the second one. Beringer is raw but has huge upside for the French big man.
And finally, THIRTY. LA CLIPPERS- WILL RILEY F, ILLINOIS
The Clips are getting older and need to address their youth immediately. Drafting Riley can help with that notion.
So, there was your 2025 NBA mock draft. I didn't hit on every one of these picks but that's why they call it a mock draft, right?
