(Includes mock trades)
1. CINCINNATI- JOE BURROW QB, LSU
The Bengals and Zac Taylor, for that matter, get their quarterback of the future. His cannon arm and elusiveness reminds me of a player who had a similar path to the #1 pick: (Transfer, one historic college season, Heisman Trophy winner, National Championship) Cam Newton, anyone?
2. MIAMI (trade from Washington)- TUA TAGOVAILOA QB, ALABAMA
The Dolphins REALLY want Tagovailoa. So much that they are willing to part two of their first round picks on Washington. Despite hip issues, Tagovailoa shows great leadership skills and mental toughness that could make him an incredible franchise quarterback for years to come.
3. DETROIT- ISAIAH SIMMONS LB/S, CLEMSON
Many people think Ohio State corner Jeff Okudah could go here. I think the Lions pull the fast one and draft the ever-versatile Simmons with the 3rd pick. Coach Matt Patricia gets his Donta' Hightower.
4. NY GIANTS- CHASE YOUNG DE, OHIO STATE
The Giants do need OL help to protect Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley, but they also need a pass rusher and is surprised that Young falls in their lap. They can't resist here.
5. WASHINGTON (trade from Miami)- TRISTAN WIRFS OL, IOWA
Washington gets their future back end for.....Dwayne Haskins? Now, they can trade Trent Williams and finally let that bad juju go away.
6. LA CHARGERS- JUSTIN HERBERT QB, OREGON
The Chargers get the most NFL-ready quarterback prospect in this draft, who could start from day one.
7. JACKSONVILLE (trade with Carolina)- JEFF OKUDAH CB, OHIO STATE
The Jags pull the trigger on a trade to grab the most polished corner in this draft. They get another Jalen Ramsey......without the attitude.
8. ARIZONA- DERRICK BROWN DT, AUBURN
The Cards should get OL help for Kyler Murray, but adding a monster at DT helps this soon-to-be improved defense.
9. CAROLINA (trade with Jacksonville)- JAVON KINLAW DT, SOUTH CAROLINA
The Panthers still get a DL prospect in Kinlaw. Matt Rhule wants a physically dominant defensive player and Kinlaw fits that mold.
10. CLEVELAND- JEDRICK WILLS OL, ALABAMA
The Browns get a versatile lineman to complement Baker Mayfield and Nick Chubb and give Mayfield the time he needs.
11. NY JETS- CEEDEE LAMB WR, OKLAHOMA
The Jets get a home run threat at receiver in Lamb to help the development of Sam Darnold.......because that hasn't been going well.
12. GREEN BAY (trade with Las Vegas)- HENRY RUGGS III WR, ALABAMA
SURPRISE! The Packers finally realize they need a dynamo receiver for Aaron Rodgers after playing receiver roulette last season.
13. SAN FRANCISCO- JERRY JEUDY WR, ALABAMA
The Niners get a big play receiver for Jimmy G and could see Jeudy and Deebo Samuel become a terror combo for their future.
14. TAMPA BAY- ANDREW THOMAS OT, GEORGIA
The Bucs get an offensive lineman to protect a 43 year old future Hall of Famer. No pressure here.
15. PHILADELPHIA (trade with Denver)- MEKHI BECTON OL. LOUISVILLE
Philly trades up to add another O. lineman to make sure Carson Wentz isn't going to be killed on the field.
16. ATLANTA- KLAVON CHAISSON LB, LSU
The Falcons need depth at LB after many in the position left for greener pastures. Chaisson is a playmaker that can complement Deion Jones.
17. NY JETS (trade with Dallas)- XAVIER MCKINNEY S, ALABAMA
The Jets trade a disgruntled Jamal Adams to the Cowboys and draft his replacement in McKinney. He doesn't have the aggressiveness as Adams, but he is a playmaker.
18. WASHINGTON (trade with Miami)- PATRICK QUEEN LB, LSU
With Ron Rivera probably switching to a 4-3, He wants a Luke Keuchly-type linebacker to roam sideline to sideline. Queen is that player.
19. LAS VEGAS- C.J. HENDERSON CB, FLORIDA
Yes, they need a receiver. but they land an elite corner to help a young, yet able defense.
20. JACKSONVILLE- KENNETH MURRAY LB, OKLAHOMA
The Jags continue to add young pieces on defense with Murray as another havoc-wrecking linebacker alongside Myles Jack.
21. DENVER (trade with Philadelphia)- BRANDON AIYUK WR, ARIZONA STATE
Denver trades down and still gets a wideout prospect to help Drew Lock's development.
22. MINNESOTA- A.J. TERRELL CB, CLEMSON
Despite a terrible performance in the National Championship game, Terrell is a playmaker who should replace Xavier Rhodes without a hitch.
23. NEW ENGLAND- YETUR GROSS-MATOS DE, PENN STATE
The Patriots will add young pieces to a defense that is getting older quickly. YGM is an edge rusher that fits perfectly in New England's 3-4 scheme.
24. NEW ORLEANS- JORDAN LOVE QB, UTAH STATE
THERE IT IS! The Saints draft their replacement for Drew Brees in the first round. They did sign Taysom Hill for a year, but Love has the size and arm strength for Sean Payton's offense.
25. MINNESOTA- JUSTIN JEFFERSON WR, LSU
The Vikings get their replacement for Stefon Diggs in Jefferson. With Kirk Cousins seemingly revived in Minnesota, Jefferson could be a terror for opposing corners.
26. MIAMI- JOSH JONES OL. HOUSTON
The Dolphins draft their blindside protection for Tua, meaning he could play both tackle positions without any limitations.
27. SEATTLE- A.J. EPENESA DE, IOWA
The Seahawks draft their replacement for Jadeveon Clowney.
28. BALTIMORE- GRANT DELPIT S, LSU
This is not a need pick for the Ravens, but it's a pick that can benefit their future.
29. TENNESSEE- ISAIAH WILSON OL, GEORGIA
The Titans get a replacement for Jack Conklin and to protect their investments of Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry.
30. LAS VEGAS (trade with Green Bay)- TEE HIGGINS WR, CLEMSON
The Raiders land a big target at WR in Higgins. I think they get their QB of the future in the later rounds. Sorry, Derek Carr.
31. SAN FRANCISCO- EZRA CLEVELAND OL, BOISE STATE
Joe Staley is a stalwart and future Hall of Famer in my opinion, but he is getting older and is breaking down. The Niners draft youth in that position.
32. ARIZONA (trade with Kansas City)- JAYLON JOHNSON CB, UTAH
The Cards trade Patrick Peterson (Salud, Pat) to the Chiefs for this pick and later picks. Johnson is a big corner who can be physically with the likes of D.K. Metcalf.
