This 2026 draft is shaping up to be as deep as it's been in years.

  1. WASHINGTON- DARRYN PETERSON, F/G KANSAS

The Wizards get the #1 pick for the first time since 2010. They drafted a franchise mainstay in John Wall, and they can do it again with Peterson. He along with Alex Sarr, Trae Young, AD and the rest of the young nucleus could make some noise.

  1. UTAH- AJ DYBANTSA F, BYU

Despite not getting the #1 pick, Utah still will get a franchise altering player in Dybantsa. With Keyonte George feeding the ball to Dybantsa and Ace Bailey, Utah could be an exciting team to watch next season.

  1. MEMPHIS- CALEB WILSON F, NORTH CAROLINA

With Memphis stocked with first round picks, they choose a player with size and agility in Wilson. Hopefully, the Grizzlies can find a trade for Ja Morant as they begin their rebuild.

  1. CHICAGO- CAM BOOZER F, DUKE

Like his dear papa, Carlos, Cam will don the black and red of the Bulls, now with new management and a new head coach which can hopefully lead them out of mediocrity.

It's at this point where I have to give my condolences to the Indiana Pacers. This team had the second worst record in the league and could use a franchise player. However, trading for Ivica Zubac was a smart move at the time, it cost them a high draft pick. The Indiana Pacers are cursed, my friends.

Oh, and also.....

MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!

The Clippers, still having PTSD over those picks going to OKC, swings a deal with Memphis.

LA CLIPPERS- 3 First round picks, Ty Jerome

MEMPHIS- 5th pick

  1. MEMPHIS- DARIUS ACUFF JR. G, ARKANSAS

The Grizz move up to get the most NBA ready prospect and their new floor general. Acuff brings energy and leadership to a franchise that needs both badly.

Also, the Grizz trade Ja to Houston for Fred VanVleet, assuming he picks up his player option.

  1. BROOKLYN- NATE AMENT F, TENNESSEE

Since the Nets drafted guards last year, it's time to get some size. Ament is long and lanky and can add some bulk if he wants to sustain the rigorous NBA season.

  1. SACRAMENTO- KINGSTON FLEMINGS G, HOUSTON

Sacramento grabs a player who can play both guard positions which will help the Kings out amicably. Flemings is a two-way guard who can excel on both offense and defense.

  1. ATLANTA- KEATON WAGLER G, ILLINOIS

Do you think the Hawks are going to continue with 35-year-old CJ McCollum? Wagler will join a nice young nucleus in Atlanta. However, can he play the point in the NBA?

  1. DALLAS- BRAYDEN BURRIES G, ARIZONA

New basketball czar Masai Ujiri knows he has a good thing going with Cooper Flagg. Time to add an athletic wing with three-point prowess to help Flagg's development.

MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!

MILWAUKEE- 15th pick, Rob Dillingham

CHICAGO- 10th pick

With a huge haul of a potential Giannis trade, the Bucks add a tantalizing prospect in Dillingham while the Bulls look to be bold in this stacked draft.

  1. CHICAGO- MIKEL BROWN JR. G, LOUISVILLE

With Anfernee Simons and Collin Sexton becoming free agents, the Bulls get a player who can be their star guard for many years for new management and a new head coach.

  1. GOLDEN STATE- YAXEL LENDEBORG F, MICHIGAN

Draymond Green is regressing and possibly crashing out. The Warriors could use a younger version of him without the headache. This could be their building block for a rebuild.

  2. OKLAHOMA CITY- KARIM LOPEZ F/C, MEXICO (YEP, MEXICO HAS NBA PROSPECTS, TOO.)

The Thunder can store Lopez away as an unfinished project as they can develop more young talent to keep the dominant train moving forward the foreseeable future.

  3. MIAMI- KOA PEAT F, ARIZONA

Considered a blue-chip prospect, Peat has size but has the speed to create mismatches. The Heat could have a nice, little young nucleus which could into something special.

MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!

The Hornets had a breakout season, so they believe that they are another piece away from ascending to the front of the East.

CHARLOTTE- Walker Kessler (sign and trade)

UTAH- 14th and 18th pick

  1. UTAH- JAYDEN QUAINTANCE C, KENTUCKY

Despite knee issues coming in, Quaintance has potential and good NBA size. He doesn't need to start right away as Triple J gets his first full season in SLC.

  1. MILWAUKEE- MOREZ JOHNSON JR F, MICHIGAN

With a Giannis trade happening....like anytime guys? Milwaukee needs a project who is at least strength-wise, the caliber of Giannis. Hopefully, maybe.....please?

  1. LA CLIPPERS- ADAY MARA C, MICHIGAN

After trading Ivica Zubac and Y.K. Niederhauser not polished, LAC will use this pick on a high rising prospect with size and improved footwork.

  1. OKLAHOMA CITY- ALLEN GRAVES F, SANTA CLARA

The Thunder can add a Lu Dort type player since the original could be gone. Also, he fits the Santa Clara quota (ala J-Dub).

MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT! MOCK TRADE ALERT!

After a surprising playoff berth, the Phoenix Suns need to finally address their point guard position. They are willing to trade a future first to Utah for the #18 pick.

  1. PHOENIX- LABARON PHILON G, ALABAMA

Phoenix gets a quick and determined point man as they find someone to deliver crisp passes to #1...I mean, #15.

  1. TORONTO- CHRIS CENAC JR. F/C, HOUSTON

With Jakob Poeltl's future in doubt, the Raptors need a high energy big to help in the paint and help bully opponents with his rebounding ability.

  1. SAN ANTONIO- HANNES STEINBACH F, WASHINGTON

Let's be real, Wemby was brutalized by KAT and Mitch in the Finals. They need a rebounding and tough compatriot next to him.

  1. DETROIT- CHRISTIAN ANDERSON G, TEXAS TECH

Let's be real, Cade needs another playmaker with him in the backcourt and Anderson is that despite his small stature.

  1. PHILADELPHIA- CAMERON CARR G, BAYLOR

Though adding a prospect to help Embiid and George is there, the Sixers can't pass on an intriguing prospect in Carr.

  1. ATLANTA- JOSHUA JEFFERSON F, IOWA STATE

The Hawks are spoiled with two first-round picks and can add a physical forward to their arsenal in Jefferson.

  1. NEW YORK- TARRIS REED JR. C, UCONN

The...(clears throat) Champs need a seasoned center with Mitchell Robinson becoming a free agent. Reed is a jack-of-all-trades at his position.

  1. LA LAKERS- BABA MILLER F/C, CINCINNATI

Luka wants the team to get a big-time center, allegedly. If not, grab a defensive menace in Miller who can grow into another piece in the puzzle.

  1. DENVER- EBUKA OKORIE G, STANFORD

Jamal Murray's dropoff and injury concerns have caused the Nuggets to go in a direction where they draft a player who has his exact game.

  1. BOSTON- ALEX KARABAN F, UCONN

Since their title win two years ago, the Celtics lost that winning mojo. Why not bring in a guy who breathes winning?

  1. MINNESOTA- BENNETT STIRTZ G, IOWA

So, the Rob Dillingham experiment didn't work out. Time to bring a point guard who has been an underdog throughout his playing career.

  1. CLEVELAND- EMANUEL SHARP G, HOUSTON

Trading for James Harden made this team old at the position. Sharp is multitalented in the roles needed for a point guard.

  1. DALLAS- SERGIO DE LARREA F/G, SPAIN

With the final pick of the first round, Dallas selects a player who is unpolished but can play both anywhere if he can learn the NBA game.

Well, that was my 2026 NBA mock draft, because as the saying goes, that's why they call it a mock draft.
