SPECIAL BULLETIN: LeBron Chooses Philly....or....

(Editor's note: This will be a short one since the sports world is about to go bonkers over the next month.)

Not everyone in the sports world stops what they are doing to see where a 41-year old will land, unless your name is Tom Brady. LeBron James is like no other 41-year old. Arguably the greatest player of a generation, but also the all-time leading scorer in NBA history, which isn't arguable. LeBron will garner attention just by his presence and his free agency was that.

At the end of it, LeBron made a decisi.....made up his mind and for the most likely, final years of his playing days, LeBron is going.....to Philadelphia.

Wait, what? Philadelphia? Not Cleveland where he started his career and won them a championship in his second go-round with the franchise. Not Miami where he won two rings alongside Wade and Bosh. Nope, King James will ascend upon the 76ers.

When a co-worker told me about the signing, my thought was this signing was weird. Weird because I really didn't think LeBron would choose Philadelphia, despite many "experts" saying that it was a prime choice.

As you expect, many people were frustrated by this, stating that he is ring chasing. I honestly do not mind it since he has done enough for the game that why not have one last shot at a championship before hanging it up. Yes, Rich Paul said that LeBron wasn't going after a ring, which was a lie.

So, Philly gave LeBron a two-year deal, which sounds crazy considering his age, but despite the criticism he receives, LeBron does two things that barr no criticism, he stays out of trouble and keeps his body in tip-top shape.

(Side note: Since he's going to Philly, the criticism will be turn up to 11.)

So, are the 76ers title contenders? On paper, the acquisition of Jaylen Brown, the continued development of Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, the 45 games Embiid will play and LeBron's arrival make them a favorite. It's going to be a fight for them to dethrone the Knicks on top of the East.

The Process has been resuscitated, for now.
